It’s not too early to plan for the 2013 Honda Grand Prix, which this year will be held from March 22-24.
The Honda Grand Prix transforms downtown St. Petersburg into an exhilarating race track where fans can observe practice, qualifying rounds and races and, of course, the main event.
The 1.8-mile track features 14 turns and even incorporates the runway of Albert Whitted Airport. At Fan Village, drivers are available for autograph sessions. Reserved grandstand seats, paddock passes and general admission tickets are available, as membership into the race’s RV or yacht clubs for VIP viewing. The yacht club membership includes a slip for your vessel in the yacht basin, which is a prime viewing area and the site of floating dock parties.
The Honda Grand Prix is not all about racing. It is a weekend that includes a variety of family-friendly events, including the Festival of States Illuminated Night Parade and Fireworks to kick off the weekend’s festivities. That event features race drivers winding through downtown and along the water’s edge to celebrate the official start of the Honda Grand Prix. Floats illuminate the streets and fireworks brighten the night sky.
