For many of us there are times when we just don’t love our jobs any more – maybe the thrill is completely gone or perhaps it is fleeting moments of boredom. Regardless, there are ways to improve the situation.
Focus on the Positive: Keep a work journal and each day write down one good thing that you did well or that went right for you. These entries will make for good reading on the days you are feeling down.
Close your Ears to Gossip and Naysayers: Engaging in negative talk is toxic and will add to your feeling of boredom or despair.
Take a Breath: Yes, the simple act of mindfulness and other forms of mediation are known to help relieve stress and can change the way you think.
Laugh: Studies have shown that people who laugh and smile are more engaged at work.
Volunteer: Doing something for someone else will make you more grateful for your situation. Some companies offer volunteer opportunities or you can look for a cause that stirs passion in you.
