After reading the most recent issue of the St. Petersburg Downtown Newsletter, I would be remiss not sharing the news of so many fun-filled events. Here is a sampling of downtown happenings to whet your interest.
- Tuesdays and Thursdays during December Trinity Lutheran Church is offering short mid-day worship services and concerts. - Friday, 12/5: Florida Orchestra Guild – Holiday Tour of Homes from 6pm to 9pm at the home of Rhonda Shear and her husband Van Hogan.
- Saturday, 12/6: Holiday Tour continued at six elegantly decorated residences on Snell Isle and Brightwaters Boulevard. For tickets and more information, visit www.floridaorchestra.org or call 727.528.6595.
- Sunday, 12/7: Historic Old Northeast – Candlelight Tour of Homes from 3pm to 8pm. Each year the proceeds of the Tour is donated to a local charity. This year’s beneficiary is CASA (Community Action Stops Abuse), an organization dedicated to providing shelter, housing and support to women and families in crisis. - Saturday, 12/13: Florida Orchestra – Home for Holiday Concert Series sponsored by Raymond James at the Mahaffey Theater. For tickets, call 727.892.3337 or visit www.floridaorchestra.org
- Friday, 12/12: Museum of Fine Arts – Stuffed Animal Night. Drop off your stuffed animal between 10am and 6pm. Each animal receives a keepsake badge when they are tucked-in for the night. Follow their journey on twitter.
- Saturday, 12/13: Museum of Fine Arts: 9-11am. Pick up your stuffed animal, enjoy a hot buffet breakfast, watch a slide show of your buddies’ adventures, and get creative with make and take activities. Receive an early visit from Santa Claus, and at 10:30am, finish the morning by listening to stories of the North Pole from Mrs. Claus. For more information, call 727.896.2667, ext. 210.
- Saturday, 12/13: 2nd Saturday Artwalk with over 40 galleries and studios open for shopping, demonstrations and refreshments. For information, visit www.stpeteartalliance.org

- Wednesday, 12/31: First Night – Celebrating its 22nd year! This is a family oriented celebration with music, art and entertainment at 25 venues. The festivities begin with FirstKids from 4pm to7pm at the First United Methodist Church.
