Judging from the number of television programs and YouTube videos on the air, American homeowners are wild about home makeovers, especially those that can be accomplished at no or low cost.
Small Changes – Big Impact

It’s a fact that small changes can have a big impact, even if it’s switching some furniture around (remember Design on a Dime?) or displaying artwork in a different way.
Here are some easy décor changes that experts say can revive a house that is feeling and looking stale.
Think like a decorator. Click on websites such as Pinterest, the spruce, HGTV, Better Homes & Gardens, etc. to find inspiring ideas and try replicating them. You don’t need to spend lots of money to get a new look – think vintage pottery, candles, trays, mirrors and strategic placement. Most important, get rid of clutter!
Rethink your layout. This is important. With a pen, paper and muscle, plan a new layout using your existing furniture. Move a couch near to a window or move furniture closer together. Swap furniture and artwork from one room to another.
Create a reading nook. Chances are that somewhere in your house you have a comfy chair, end table and lamp. Gather and arrange them to create a cozy reading area. Add pillows, a throw and presto, you have a wonderful new space perfect for reading and relaxing.
Rearrange your bookcase. Bookcases and bookshelves do double duty as storage space for books and display space for accessories. For picture-perfect bookcase decorating, resist the urge to pack in accessories on every shelf. Keep a clean look by choosing a one-color or tone-on-tone scheme for vases and figurines, and make sure to mix up shapes. Every so often, step back to assess the overall balance of your arrangement. Repaint. You’ll be amazed what a fresh coat of paint can do to transform your living space. It can freshen a room, make the space appear bigger, change the theme and add character. Never underestimate the power of paint – it’s the #1 way to instantly freshen the look of a room without spending a fortune.
Bottom Line: You don’t need to spend scads of money and time on remodeling to make your home feel new again. Be creative and enjoy the process!
