We should all do what, in the long run, gives us joy, even if it is only picking grapes or sorting the laundry.

In previous blogs I discussed rooms that are often overlooked or neglected when it comes to décor. The home office is one; another is the laundry room.
In recent years, however, more home owners and builders are paying attention to the laundry room, even renaming it “laundry living spaces” with the idea that this area should be inviting, not just a utilitarian somewhere to do chores.
If your laundry room is in need of a make-over, here are a few tips to consider:
- Create a folding station: Whether your space is large or small, go online to find many DIY ideas for creating countertop space devoted to folding clothes.
- Add storage: Storage can be an integral part of making a laundry room more functional and less cluttered. Again, check online for ideas, including cabinets, shelves, hanging rods, and baskets.
- Make it colorful: Paint the walls in warm hues…. perhaps an ocean blue, add a bright cover to your ironing board or try hanging a few vintage posters on the walls.
